How is life in Kaliyuga?

How is life in Kaliyuga?

The eightfold system of Yoga is an excellent place to start. The yamas and niyamas, the first two limbs of yoga, provide forth a clear, useful moral map amid the bustling maze that is our existence. By pursuing that route, we may leave the Kali Yuga behind and discover the Golden Age within ourselves.

In today's world, with its uncertainty and instability, many people feel lost or at least unfulfilled. They wander through life like sleepwalkers, taking whatever job comes their way and putting up with any relationship that lasts longer than six months. Of course, some jobs are better paid than others, but for most this is not enough meaning or purpose to keep them going day after day. They look for more in life but find it hard to know exactly what they are looking for or how to go about finding it.

In ancient times, people knew exactly who they were and what they wanted from life. They didn't have doubts about themselves or their path, which is why they found fulfillment in doing what they loved every day. They enjoyed their work and saw its value even if it wasn't monetary; otherwise, there would be no such thing as altruism. Their lives had direction and purpose, which is why they were able to withstand the hardships of life while so many people around them weren't.

Nowadays, we live in a materialistic society where money is seen as the main source of happiness.

What will happen when the Kali Yuga ends?

AND THE STARTING POINT OF THE SATYA YUGA, A GOLDEN AGE. Hindus believe that human civilization spiritually degenerates during the Kali Yuga, also known as the Dark Age, since humans are as far away from God as they can be. However, this age will end when a soul is liberated from the cycle of reincarnation.

At the end of the Satya Yuga, Manu was given a new world to rule over. It was called Vaikuntha and it was perfect, without evil or suffering. At the end of each Kalpa (period of time), souls would go there to enjoy Vishnu's paradise. But after many Kalpas, most people didn't want to leave his world so it became materialistic and corrupt. So at the end of the Treta Yuga, another new world was given to rule over - called Tejasva. This time too, most people didn't want to leave his world so it became full of violence and hatred. At the end of the Dasa Yuga, yet another new world was given to rule over - called Madhyamaithya. Again, most people didn't want to leave his world so it became completely materialistic and selfish. At the end of the Kali Yuga, no new world is given; instead, the current one becomes exhausted and everyone returns to Earth where another new world is born from their own actions.

Why is Kali Yuga bad?

Our present age, known as the Kali-yuga, is one of spiritual darkness, violence, and hypocrisy, according to the Vedic texts. The Bhagavad-Gita (Srimad-Bhagavatam). According to texts such as SB 12.2, mankind deteriorates and descends into savagery during the 432,000-year Kali period. Humans began to slaughter animals for sustenance. They started fighting wars against each other over territory and resources. In order to survive in this dark age, people became cunning, deceitful, and hypocritical.

The Kali-yuga will end when the Lord returns to destroy this world and establish a new system on earth where righteousness will be the norm, not wickedness. At that time, all souls will be returned to their original form, either as human beings or animals, and they will have to earn their next birth by accumulating good deeds.
