Our solar system was not always as it is now; instead, it had more debris orbiting it that were eventually removed by the influence of planetary forces.

The composition of this crust is not well understood because measurements with seismometers onboard NASA's Deep Space Network have not been able to penetrate it.

Can I walk on Jupiter?
