Importantly, the researchers discovered that those who know nothing about their horoscope fail to meet its predictions. The study was published in the August issue of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. Each person was then asked to report on the likelihood that various things would happen to each of the individuals over the next 10 years. They also reported how much they agreed or disagreed with statements like "This person will achieve something great before age 40."
After taking into account factors such as gender, age, income, and location, the researchers found that people who were born in the spring were more likely than others to be quoted by friends, family members, or co-workers as influential, famous, or successful by the time the study ended. They were also more likely to be described as ambitious, enthusiastic, and energetic. People born in the fall were more likely than others to be quoted as happy or sad, depending on the season.
